Motocross

Motocross, or MX, might have been born in Europe but it didn’t take much time for Americans to boost the sport with growing popularity in the 1960s. Like many of our action/adventure sports, MX can be recreational or competitive. Iowa keeps up with its fair share of tracks, clubs, and participants; which makes it easy for any race fan to watch a race or get involved.

Quad racing had a tough going due to negative publicity associated with the alleged dangers of the sport. In the last 10 years, quad racing has again gained in popularity and Iowa is no exception.

Freestyle MX is relatively new. Rather than racing, this sport includes acrobatic stunts while jumping motocross bikes. Unfortunately, Iowa lags in this area and as far as LAS is aware, we do not have Freestyle competitions with local athletes. We do however; have the opportunity to see national teams when their tours come to our areas.
